WHAT TO DO AT ORTAKÖY?
One of the best things to do at Ortaköy is to visit one of the Kumpir stalls to grab your kumpir and walk through a coast side to watch Bosphorous while enjoying your food. Kumpir is the specific street food of this neighborhood which an ovened potato is filled with variety of toppings after mushed with butter, salt and cheese. Served hot, great with mayonese and ketchup on top.
Walking down through colorful accesorizes street is another option. There are hundreds of different models of earrings to necklaces and more in each and every shop there. Good for a small gift to bring back to friends in your home.
Give a coffee break. There are lots of nice coffee shops and restaurants all around. If you feel like you can have waffle with Turkish coffee across the Bosphorus view.
Pray at wonderful mosque called Büyük Mecidiye Camii which is also called Ortaköy Camii. It’s one of the unique symbols of Istanbul which has been a capture for postcards.
