Petronas Twin Towers is one of the most high-rise buildings in the World. With its 452 meters height, it was the highest building from 1994 (the year of establishment) till the Taipei 101 took over this on 2003. This magnificent twin towers is the third highest tower in the World after the Burj Dubai and Taipei 101.
Still owns the title of the highest twin towers in the World, Petronas Twin Towers is raised 88 floor-tower in the capital city Kuala Lumpur. Designed Islamically inspired as 8 edged star, towers are designed by Argentinean designer Cesar Pelli who also designed the World Trade Center in New York and Canary Wharf in London.
Used 33.000 stainless steel and 55.000 laminated glass, the building was constructed with cheap and strong ferroconcrete because of the lack of steel industry and import expenses.
You can climb up to Twin Towers’ 84th floor within few minutes with the fast lift, seeing amazing view of Kuala Lumpur is priceless from here.
STORY OF THE TOWERS
The towers got interesting story. Appointed to two different competitive construction company, both towers were built up by each one of them. As Tower 1 was building up by Hazama Corporation, Samsung Constructions started to raise the Tower 2 after a month and completes earlier than the competitive company although they had a small problem of 25 mm vertical slide.
Constructed by Korean company Samsung, the Skybridge is 58.4 meter long, built up 170 meter high, connects two towers on 41 and 42 floors. 750 tons, double floor designed bridge is open everyday for visitors from 09:00 to 19:00. The Skybridge holds the title of being the highest double floor bridge in the World. Each tower offers 29 double floor fast lifts, 6 heavy service lifts, and 4 executive lifts.
Placed at the entrance, Suria KLCC is the not only famous in Malaysia but one of the most famous malls in the World.
Petronas Twin Towers also housing Malaysia Symphony Orchestra, and a Convention Center, Aquarium, a park and a small waterpark and a wonderful designed mosque inside its garden.
